Re: June 2011 edition: font issues on Mac OS X
I got some font issues on 10.6.8 with JRE 5.0 or 6.0: The font is replaced by Comic Sans (or similar) and the three buttons "Format", "Edit" and "Clear" don't have a label. Please see attached screenshot (Jan. ed. compared to June ed.)
Any idea how to solve this issue? Engine: 4.8.36 GUI: 4.8.34 JRE: 5.0 + 6.0 Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 03/29/2012 06:05PM by guidomarcel.
I have the same issue (invisible labels), on both 10.6.8 and 10.7. The colors in the options (white text on light gray background) are also nearly illegible.
You can change the unfortunate default font choice (by going to "Displays and Colors" and then the "Menu Fonts" button). But that doesn't affect the visibility of the 3 main buttons.
Hi Jan, Ian,
thanks for your message. I have to admit that the colors are not acceptable for Mac OSX. I will have to change this. For the font, you can change it in the "Display" tab. The left button is still the "Format" button The middle button is the "Edit" button The right button is the "Clear Button" Best Regards Guido
This is still a pretty big issue for OSX. The four main menus are not visible at all. A few of the side bar menus the items are off the left side bar and you can't seem to change the size of this side bar.
I played around with the menu sizes and colors options wtih no joy. The Display & Colors -> colors tab is one of the worst at having the items fall out of the visible side bar. Here is an example of how it looks... here is a picture of the main menu problems I see: [skitch.com]
Items off the left side bar example:[skitch.com]
The version I am running is the 4.8.43 version. I am running the latest OSX (Lion) 10.7.3 And my Java is... $ java -version java version "1.6.0_29" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_29-b11-402-11D50b) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.4-b02-402, mixed mode) This is what the running program looks like from a PS list; j/usr/bin/java -jar /Users/jrule/Documents/SQLinFormpro_Desktop_2012January_1.6.jar Any and all help to resolve this is appreciated. I have used the tool for years on a PC and I think it really rocks. Just looking for some help to get it up and running on my new work env machine mac osx. -Jeff Edited 6 time(s). Hi,
I just purchased the desktop version and I have the same menu visibility issues - in fact, I could not find the option to save the Standard Options until I accidentally clicked on the (invisible) 'Options' menu item
So if you like I could help you test this issue as well. Incidentally, I've also developed some Java desktop programs and if you want I could help you package the program for deployment on mac OSX so that it has a proper scaling Dock icon etc.
