[solvedthumbs up] Running the desktop versionsad smiley

Hi,
I've just payed and downloaded the SQLinFormpro_Desktop_2010December_1.6.jar file and i have some trouble to run it.

At the first try, the Nokia OVI Suite tried to open it. So i've modified how to open it by pointing on javaw.exe, but all i have now is just a warn, nothing else, not even a message, a notice or anything else.

My environment is : Win XP Pro, JRE6.

Any tip should be appreciated.

[Edit]By the way : I've tried to launch it with a command line :
- with D:\......\SQL>javaw SQLinFormpro_Desktop_2010December_1.6.jar : just a warn, nothing else;
- with D:\......SQL>javaw SQLinFormpro_Desktop_2010December_1.6.jar : i obtain a message with an Exception :
Quote

Translation for the french part : "missing the required file following the launch file" (or something like that)

Hi Cyrano,
thanks for your message. Did the online version work on your PC?

btw, could you please copy&paste how the.jar file extension is associated to javaw.exe? Maybe there is a problem when the parameter %1 is missing

Guido

Yes, online it works fine, that's the reason i've decided to buy it immediately, i really appreciate what i can do whith this tool

For the association with the javaw.exe, i'll check right now

[Edit] In fact, i don't really undestand where i can add the parameter «%1» in the association, i've not found anythig to do that. DO i must create some «.bat» file with a command line ?

A Bat File is not needed. I remeber that another customer had a similar issue and it was solved by changing the .jar file association.

You can change the file association like this:
(1) Open the Windows Explorer, from the Tools select 'Folder Options...'
(2) Click the File Types tab, scroll down and select JAR File type.
(3) Press the Advanced button.
(4) In the Edit File Type dialog box, select open in Actions box and click Edit...
(5) Press the Browse button and navigate to the location the Java interpreter javaw.exe.
(6) In the Application used to perform action field, needs to display something similar to "C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %* (Note: the part highlighted in blue is the important part execution string, the other part of the path name can vary depending on which version of Java you're using) then press the OK buttons until all the dialogs are closed.

IF this is not working, you can run the program by using the command "java -jar SQLinForm.....jar"

Ok, I,ve found a way to run it.

With a command line, like this :
Quote
Command line
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_07\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "D:\......\SQLinFormpro_Desktop_2010December_1.6.jar" %*
And then it's ok.

May be some improvment will be appreciated on this point.

Anyway, thanks.
